Family violence : young people and youth sector workers informing government about the implementation of mandatory reporting in Victoria

Abstract

This book is the outcome of a project funded by the Criminology Research Council. The original title of the project, in the names of Daniel Sandor and Julian Bondy was "Family violence : young people and youth workers informing Government implementation of mandatory reporting". This study questions young people and youth sector workers about various aspects of new Victorian mandatory reporting laws. It examines: knowledge levels regarding mandatory reporting laws and the child protection system; skill levels in working with young people who have been abused; perceptions regarding the operation of the mandatory reporting system; and recommendations regarding the implementation of mandatory reporting.
